Dr. Randy Beck grew up in the small town of Cheraw, South Carolina, also known as “The Prettiest Town In Dixie.” After graduating from Clemson University, he completed his veterinary degree at the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine. He is proud to tell you that his blood runs orange on game day!
Dr. Beck began his career in Alpharetta, GA working at a high volume animal hospital where he became Chief of Staff before becoming the owner of South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital in 2001.
Special interests for Dr. Beck include ultrasound, orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries and dentistry. He is married to his lovely wife Aimee, and has two children. When he is not at the clinic, he stays busy coaching, fishing, biking and pretty much anything that involves being outdoors.“

Dr. Beck has two Golden Retrievers, Lola and Caroline and 3 cats, Russell, Charlie and Birdie.
Dr. Carrie Daugherty graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from West Virginia University and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1996.
Dr. Daugherty is a member of GVMA,AVMA and Back Country Horsemen of America. She has particular interests in feline medicine, ophthalmology, behavioral medicine, dentistry and ultrasound.
She and her husband Trevor live on a small farm with their three horses, two Labrador Retrievers, and two exotic shorthair cats. She spends most of her free time horseback riding in the mountains of north GA, riding Utvs, and enjoying other outdoor activities.
Kelsey joined South Cherokee in Spring 2014. She has worked in the veterinary field for 6 years. She is a graduate of The University of Georgia with a BS in Animal Science. Kelsey has a dog named Billy!
Michael has been working with the South Cherokee family since 2013 and has been in the field for six years. He has a cat named Lisa!
Amanda has been with South Cherokee since 2002! She has 14 years experience in the veterinary profession. She has 3 dogs, Chopper, Gage and Brock.
Crystal has nine years of veterinary experience and has been with South Cherokee since 2015. She attended Jackson Community College and Spring Harbor College. She has 2 Yorkies, Evelyn Rose and Drogon!
Shonda has been at South Cherokee since the Spring of 2014. She has been in the veterinary field for 20 years and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has 4 dogs, Timbur, Sarj, Mazzy and Minnie. She also has 3 cats, Godiva, Zena and Boogan!
Cheryl joined the SCVH Family in Spring 2015! She has had 20 years experience in the veterinary field working with clients and pets. She has a hound-mix named Tango and two Fantail Goldfish, Azumi and Finn!
Wesley has been at South Cherokee for 8 years and in the veterinary field for 13 years. She has a 3-legged Pomeranian named Emmy!
Renee has been with South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital for 11 years and in the veterinary field for 16. She has 6 cats – Patrick, Alice, Walle, Eva, Jessie and Casper. Renee also has 2 dogs - Brody and Stanley and 2 turtles – Herbert and Mr. T!
Taylor has been a member of the SCVH Family since November 2012. She works with our boarders making sure that their stay at South Cherokee is optimum. She is majoring in communications and journalism. She has a German Shepherd named Schatzi and a cat named Murphy!
Alexis is our veterinarian in the making! She is a technician as well as a pre-veterinary student. When she is not in school or work she enjoys time with her dog Zoe and kitty named Toby.
Black Kitty is the official SCVH welcome committee! She took up residence outside the clinic eight years ago as a feral cat. Dr. Beck spayed her in 2007 and then would occasionally allow a “pet” on her terms. She now comes inside and enjoys her days lounging on top of her condo, gazing at birds and saying hello to her fellow furry friends. She is about 9 years old. Her favorite treats are Temptations. She loves head butts and long walks on the beach!
