Dr. Randy Beck grew up in the small town of Cheraw, South Carolina, also known as “The Prettiest Town In Dixie.”  After graduating from Clemson University, he completed his veterinary degree at the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine.  He is proud to tell you that his blood runs orange on game day!
Dr. Beck began his career in Alpharetta, GA working at a high volume animal hospital where he became Chief of Staff before becoming the owner of South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital in 2001.
Special interests for Dr. Beck include ultrasound, orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries and dentistry.  He is married to his lovely wife Aimee, and has two children. When he is not at the clinic, he stays busy coaching, fishing, biking and pretty much anything that involves being outdoors.“

Dr. Beck has two Golden Retrievers, Lola and Caroline and 3 cats, Russell, Charlie and Birdie.

DR. Carrie daugherty

Dr. Carrie Daugherty graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from West Virginia University and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1996.
Dr. Daugherty is a member of GVMA,AVMA and Back Country Horsemen of America. She has particular interests in feline medicine, ophthalmology, behavioral medicine, dentistry and ultrasound.
She and her husband Trevor live on a small farm with their three horses, two Labrador Retrievers, and two exotic shorthair cats. She spends most of her free time horseback riding in the mountains of north GA, riding Utvs, and enjoying other outdoor activities.

Cheryl joined the SCVH Family in Spring 2015!  She has been in the veterinary field working with clients and pets since 1995.  She live at home with her husband, three kids, and has a crazy hound-mix named Tango.

Wesley has been at South Cherokee since 2007 and in the veterinary field since 2000. She has a mixed breed dog named Eddy.

Renee has been with South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital since 2005 and in the veterinary field since 2001.  She has 7 cats and 2 turtles -- all rescued from South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital!

Kayla has been with us since 2019 and has 2 pitbulls, Tyson and Lola. She loves movies and caring for animals, which makes her the perfect team member!

Allie has been working in animal care since 2017. She has a Great Dane and a Chihuahua at home. She has been an excellent addition to our kennel staff, but is also cross trained in reception. Since she is bilingual, she will be able to assist our Spanish speaking clients! 


Amanda started her grooming career at Petsmart in 2008. She is a Certified Professional Groomer through the International Professional Groomers, Inc. Amanda has two dachshunds, and has previously enjoyed competing with her dog in conformation, obedience, and field trials. She loves to go hiking with her family and do crafts with her daughter.

Kelsey  joined South Cherokee in Spring 2014.  She has worked in the veterinary field since 2005. She is a graduate of The University of Georgia with a BS in Animal Science.  Kelsey has a dog named Billy!

Amanda has been with South Cherokee since 2002!  She has 14 years experience in the veterinary profession.  She has 3 dogs, Chopper, Gage and Brock.

Leticia is a California native who moved to Georgia in 2006. She attended college at Los Angeles Pierce College, and UC Davis University, where she was enrolled in the RVT (registered veterinarian technician) to Veterinarian bridge program. Leticia has been in the veterinary field since 1996. At home she keeps busy with her husband, children (Megan, Sarah, and Jacob), four dogs, and five cats

Jennie has been with us since 2016, and has been in this field since 2013. She lives with her husband, Jessie, and her mixed breed dog, Annie.

Tyler has been a veterinary technician since 2016. We have great pride in hiring him as a Marine Corps Veteran, and even now works as a veterinary technician for the Army Reserve. He has lots of experience in emergency veterinary medicine, as well as day practice! He has three pets which include a beagle named Copper, a basenji mix named Rebel, and a green-cheeked conure named Piña.


Alexis is our veterinarian in the making!  She is a technician as well as a pre-veterinary student.   When she is not in school or work she enjoys time with her dog Zoe and kitty named Toby.


Luka is an 11yr old DSH we rescued in 2017. She is our permanent team supervisor who enjoys being brushed and having long staring contests. She is queen of the office and she knows it!
